Dog Friendly Hotels in Padstow

Looking for dog friendly hotels in Padstow? There's a limited choice as Padstow is only a small fishing village, with few hotels, but it does have one celebrity dog leading the way and making sure dogs are treated well. There are other dog friendly hotels in the surrounding areas though.

Padstow was home to Chalky, Rick Stein's famous TV dog, who accompanied him on lots of fishing trips to catch the ingredients for Rick Stein's cookery programmes, so when the Stein empire started to accumulate accommodation in the town, Chalky made sure that his furry friends would be well catered for too!

Most dog friendly hotels will make a charge of £7-15/night extra per pooch.

Here's a list of some dog friendly hotels in Padstow - and other places where dogs are welcome.

The Metropole Hotel: Dog Friendly

As you pull off the main road and start to wend your way down to the town centre of Padstow, there's a large, striking granite hotel overlooking the Estuary.

This is the Metropole, 4-star luxury - and they welcome dogs. With fabulous views overlooking the Camel Estuary, an outdoor pool and a top quality restaurant, your holiday at the seaside will be comfortable and enjoyable.

Not far from the start of the Camel Trail, there's a lot of local areas to walk your dog to in the mornings, or all day if you fancy a longer trek.

The Metropole at Padstow boasts an AA 4 star Rosette award restaurant.

If you're planning on staying in Padstow for the May Day Obby Oss celebrations, then the May Day procession actually passes right by the hotel's side entrance a couple of times throughout the day.

St Petroc's Hotel: Dog Friendly

The St Petroc's Hotel is a dog friendly hotel and has the "Chalky seal of approval" - it's owned by Rick Stein, celebrity chef owner of Chalky the celebrity dog (RIP) - and when they set up the hotel they wanted to make sure it was dog friendly.

The charge for your dog is £15/night - and you'll get a dinner bowl and fleece blanket.

St Petroc's is a small, 10-bedroom hotel, offering a choice of rooms with views over the Estuary or St Petroc's Church.

Alternatively, there's a choice of other accommodation in the town from Rick Stein which is also dog friendly, including Prospect House.

The Old Ship Hotel: Dog Friendly

Right in the centre of Padstow's narrow streets is the dog friendly Old Ship Hotel, an historic Grade II listed building. Rooms have Sky TV, a fridge, wifi, a minibar and a safe.

Although right in the heart of Padstow, there's plenty of parking in a private, secure car park behind the Hotel. The hotel has a mix of 15 well-appointed rooms, each with their own style and character.

Downstairs and outside, The Old Ship Inn is a popular, public bar. Tourists and locals alike will be found enjoying the historical surroundings. Outside, at the front, is a huge covered seating area, where you can watch the world go by.

Dogs are welcome, but not to be left alone in the rooms. Pets are permitted at the discretion of the management, and only in certain bedrooms. There is a daily charge of £5/dog.  You must inform the Old Ship Hotel at the time of booking that you have a pet.

** This would be my personal favourite, because it's right in the town and I love this old fashioned pub.  It's one of the places I head to for a pub lunch when I'm in town.

Treglos Hotel: Dog Friendly

This AA 4 star hotel is dog friendly. Formerly a private summer home, it sits on the coast a few miles west of Padstow, with magnificent, uninterrupted views over Constantine Bay.

Well-behaved pets are welcome, by prior arrangement. There is a limit of one dog per room.

There is a jacket or tie dress code in the restaurant in the evenings.

Address: Constantine Bay , Padstow, Cornwall PL28 8JH

This isn't showing on the map below as it's about 5 miles to the west of Padstow and the map is showing dog friendly hotels actually IN Padstow itself.
